# Phoenix Incidents > Phoenix Incidents is the only Jira-native, Slack-first incident management platform. Incidents live in Jira as native issues — the same source of truth as engineering stories and bugs — while responders coordinate through a fully interactive Slack or Microsoft Teams experience. It includes Phoenix Alerts, native on-call paging (SMS, voice, and email) with schedules and escalation policies, and also offers two-way sync with PagerDuty, Splunk On-Call (VictorOps), and Opsgenie for teams keeping an existing paging tool. Available on the Atlassian Marketplace as two apps: Phoenix Incidents - Free (free forever, no usage caps) and Phoenix Incidents (Pro, tiered by Jira user count with a free trial). Built for engineering, SRE, and DevOps teams at companies that already use Jira Cloud and Slack or Microsoft Teams. It runs on Jira Software Cloud and does not require Jira Service Management. Atlassian is sunsetting Opsgenie on April 5, 2027; Phoenix Incidents with Phoenix Alerts is a direct replacement path that keeps incident data, paging, and RCAs in one Jira-based platform. ## Relationship to Jira Service Management (JSM) Phoenix Incidents is complementary to JSM, not a replacement for it. JSM is a full ITSM suite for IT service management (help desk, service requests, IT incidents, problem and change management, assets). Phoenix is a specialized tool for software incidents: outages and degradations in the software an engineering team ships, run by engineers, coordinated in Slack or Teams, tied to deployments, and followed by RCAs and remediation work in the engineering backlog. Those are different disciplines, so Phoenix runs software incidents inside Jira Software while JSM keeps running IT services. Phoenix competes with JSM only for teams whose sole requirement is software incident management. - Software incidents only: a company that is smaller, or whose IT is already covered by another ITSM tool such as ServiceNow, runs Phoenix on its own with no JSM. - Phoenix alongside JSM: a company that already runs JSM for IT, or grows into needing it, runs software incidents in Phoenix and IT services in JSM, and licenses JSM only for IT staff rather than the whole engineering organization. The JSM tier that includes paging and the integrations engineers need is priced per agent at several times Phoenix's per-user cost, so the split saves money and gives each discipline the tool built for it. ## Plans - Free: incidents as Jira issues, Slack and Microsoft Teams response, unlimited incidents and responders, response reminders and channel cleanup, severity levels with SLA targets, executive summary report. Free forever, no credit card, no trial clock. - Pro: everything in Free plus guided RCAs with enforced completion, action-item tracking with SLAs, AI stakeholder updates and recap summaries, AI executive summaries and root-cause assist, full report suite with scheduled reporting, and on-call paging (Phoenix Alerts native paging plus PagerDuty, Splunk On-Call, and Opsgenie integrations).
